SplashCast was featured not just once, but twice yesterday in the WSJ (online). Here and here. The very first sentence in the first article reads:
New York — Michael Berkley likes to joke that he is responsible for Sen. Hillary Clinton’s March 4 presidential primary wins in Texas and Ohio.
That certainly makes for a […]

The New York Times just published this story about Intel’s launch of a $50M social media marketing campaign (via John Furrier on Twitter). Highlights:
“It’s not about just pushing ads out to people,” said Nancy Bhagat, vice president for sales and marketing and director for integrated marketing at Intel in Santa Clara, Calif.
“The main focus […]

We recently completed an analysis on the average click-through rate (CTR) of a typical splashcast. It’s about 3%. That means that every 33 times a splashcast is loaded on a web page, a user interacts with it (watches a video, plays a game, enters the chat room, etc…).
SplashCast currently serves up about 1.3 […]

Without a lot of fanfare, MySpace launched their Developer Platform today. SplashCast is one of only a few developers launching applications on day one — which was also the case with Facebook’s platform launch in May of 2007. Mashable, Centernetworks, SiliconFlorist, and TechVibes all covered our MySpace launch today.
The lack of fanfare for MySpace […]

Via our good friend and former Director of Content, Marshall Kirkpatrick at RRW, and via TechCrunch, Kyte.tv announced today that they are broadening their sights beyond user-generated content (UGC) to serve music artists and media companies. Gee, that sounds a little familiar.
Look… for every 5 content producers there are 95 content consumers. The entrenched […]

Typically the young don’t vote.
As a guy who registered to vote on my 18th birthday, this fact has always bothered me. Actually, it pisses me off. Numerous elections would have turned out differently if more young voters actually turned off the video games and punched the card.
This election, thus far anyway, has […]

Quick update: the Open Gym splashcast is the 2nd most popular sports application on Facebook at the moment. After just 4 days since it launched, it’s been added to about 8,500 profile pages, and has about 6,000 daily active users.
Given that this is a sponsored marketing application, not vampire biting silliness, these are impressive […]
